Muziki

These past few days have been amazing! I'm a little homesick, but that's okay. Yesterday we went to the Nuru center and saw the work that was going on there. This ministry focuses on helping to get disabled women off the street from begging and giving them a trade and a way to support themselves. They live at the center until they are able to support themselves. The ladies from the church made us an amazing meal with chapati (like a thick tortilla),some amazing spiced rice with beef in it and cabbage with red bell peppers and tomatoes. This is a celebratory meal for them so it was very kind of them to make it for us. The women at the center also showed us how to make the special paper beads they use in their crafting. Needless to say we got some shopping done and cleared out half the store.:)

The safari was also amazing especially when we were charged by a momma elephant who was being very protective of her baby. I Think we'll try to upload that lovely video very soon. We've done so much more, but I wanted to talk about something I've noticed throughout the time I've been here. When we went to Williams church we were welcomed with a song. At the church at Nuru center yesterday the women up in the church were singing. The music is loud and beautiful and the people singing it mean it. You can hear the joy in their voices and see it in the sway of their bodies. There worship is so meaningful in a way that I've never seen before. I'm going to miss the vibrancy of the music when I come home and the openess of the Tanzanian people's worship.
